Date Rape did not have a name before the 1970s and 1980s or later

What did you call women who were date raped then?

Parents. People in Shotgun weddings who were pregnant and married to people who had date raped them but because there was no abortion they often were forced to marry by both sets of parents.

This was just normal life before legal abortions everywhere.

Then you could not be raped by by a date legally you could only be raped by a stranger.

You could not be raped by your husband either. But, if he beat you up you might have a chance of putting him in jail for 30 days. And then when he got out often he would beat you to death.

Things "at least the way things were perceived" by the average person were very different.

For example, it was not uncommon that 15 year old girls moved away from home and were living with 20 to 40 year old men and both families put up with this.

How did this change?

It changed when AIDS came about in the 1980s and people took seriously then sexual intercourse between minors and adults on all levels because of the fear of AIDS spread into naive young people especially young girls.

I was watching the (27?) women who have Accused Bill Cosby of drugging them and raping them.

To show you how different things were then, none of the women reported their rapes to the police and none of them ever went to a hospital because of their rapes. Of course, being drugged they had no control really perceptually or physically while the rape was going on.

But, you can see women today would handle things much differently because society has evolved in the U.S. and Europe since then.

Women own their own bodies today more, they did not own their own bodies before the 1970s much at all and it has been a very slow transition from married parents of date rape and hating their husbands to now, a woman doesn't have to marry a man who date rapes her because she can have an abortion instead. So, this is a long change over time but just remember most of the world forces a woman to marry a man who rapes her, even if she kills him later. And if she is already married and is raped she is sometimes stoned to death for it. This is the world as it really is now and then.

Bill Cosby will never go to jail if he did any of this by the way because there is no physical evidence anywhere that he did this.
