With many ISIS leaders dead now from an Iraqi Air Strike (possibly even Baghdadi) things are changing quickly now on the ground for ISIS in Syria and possibly in Iraq too.
Russian Airstrikes on anti- Assad forces and sometimes ISIS are accompanied by Iranian Army forces fighting ISIS directly and Shiite Militias likely fighting in Iraq against ISIS too. So now, ISIS is being attacked by multiple forces by air and by land in both Syria and IRaq.
With some or most of the top leadership of ISIS being dead or wounded they are likely scrambling for survival (at least in Syria and IRaq). Though ISIS groups are still in places like Libya and Afghanistan fighting too.
Though I'm sure Turkey isn't happy with the U.S. giving Kurdish fighters weapons to fight ISIS with and Iraq might also be worried about this too long term, it is the best course of action for now to end ISIS in Syria and IRaq over the next weeks and months if that is possible.
IF you look at the map at: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-34509793
you can look at the air strikes by the U.S. and Russian Warplanes recently.
