The Value of a Human LIfe

I was listening to the news and they were trying to find common ground because of all the shootings on campuses across the U.S. which never seems to end. And the most important thing seems to be to find common ground.

Because of the pro and anti-gun lobby have their ways they will take it away from what is the important question of: "How can we best keep people alive?"

It doesn't help in regard to what we see in the Middle East either. This isn't helping us value human life at all when we hear about human sex slaves whose parents and relatives were beheaded and then they are beaten with hoses if they run away.

All this affects the American and World Psyche too. We are bombarded psychologically with all these events. So, it isn't surprising that shootings are taking place all over the world in various different circumstances.

But, the common ground is that we need to protect and shelter the families who are losing loved ones on campuses and those losing loved ones to gang violence as well.

The latest shootings were between members of a fraternity at NAU in Flagstaff, Arizona in some kind of dispute.

Part of this might be that people are more likely to text bad things about each other and less likely to have meaningful conversations about anything. The lack of social intercourse in person is one of the many causes of the shootings.

When everyone is taking "Selfies" and is so self centered it is not surprising that people only value what is going on in their own heads. So, people die.

Communication in person is how more people will stay alive and not shoot each other. People didn't do this kind of thing as much when more people went to church also. People valued life more in general.

There were still murders of various kinds in the 1950s and 1960s and there were gang rumbles when people died from knives, chains, clubs of various kinds of weapons including cars. But, there were not generally mass murders on college, high school or grade school campuses. So, this is different.

So, what is the real cause of all these murders?

What has changed in society to cause this?

And how can we stop these changes whether people have legal guns or not?

Focusing only on Guns will not resolve anything because it is a stalemate sort of like Abortion laws at this point.

So, some way to focus on the problem that doesn't upset people on either side needs to be stressed or else people are just going to get more and more extreme on all sides.
