To you where you are looking out your window onto a snowy landscape this might be desirable temperature. However, up until a few days ago we hadn't seen lows below 55 or 56 degrees. So, for us, we finally had to turn our heater on at night for the first times in since about June or July.
Here on the Northern California coast it averages 50s at night and 60s during the day year around which is kind of nice in some ways except for the Fog (high and low) in May, June and July and sometimes even into August(but not this year).
Temperatures in the 40s are normal for most years but not until the last week this year around this time as it tends to get the coldest between now and Thanksgiving here year around for some reason. Likely it is because it tends to be more windy and clear this time of year so the heat dissipates into space more unless clouds or rain from a storm are coming through.
30s might come any time from now on but usually we don't get more than a week or two of 30s temperatures and it never snows here although it often hails sometimes several inches deep during the winter. But, only small hail not bigger than the tip of your little finger so you don't die when it comes down baseball size like it does some places in the Midwest if you are caught out in it.
