There is a lot of trauma we all face in life

My statement might be: "Everyone has a little PTSD from events in their lives."

So, it is all a matter of degree for everyone. For example, growing up in the 1950s was sort of a traumatic event different than now, especially being taught that we all were going to die soon in a world wide nuclear holocaust. Then on top of this I had whooping cough at 2 and blunt trauma childhood epilepsy from ages 10 to 15. However, this also was good because it made me 4F for the draft when I turned 18 in 1966 because every guy I knew pretty much unless they got a college deferment was drafted and went to Viet Nam. Even my best high School Friend had to join the Air Force and become a Jet engine Mechanic at a local college certification program so he had a way to survive the Viet Nam War. Because more boys died our particular age than any other in Viet Nam.

Remember over 50,000 of our boys died over there and 250,000 of them came home physically wounded and then millions came home with various degrees of PTSD and many of those are dead now, some died within a few years of when they came back and others are still alive.

The point I guess I'm trying to make is : "Everyone has some form of PTSD". It's all relative to what you had to go through and whether you can be functional and hold a job in society or not or whether you are sort of borderline.

So, understanding this helps us all cope a lot better with whatever comes up in our lives to deal with.

IF we all start with being compassionate to ourselves so we can survive, then maybe we next can learn to be compassionate to others too.

However, just remember, Right mindful compassion can save all mankind, but idiot compassion just harms you and others. So, be wise about all your choices because if you don't survive you won't be able to help others survive either.

Because in the end it is sort of like the Three Musketeers saying, "All for one and one for all".
