Rain looks like it's hitting pretty hard from Santa Barbara south almost to San Diego right now

The rain was lighter to the north today than now in the south. It looks to be quite instense for Santa Barbara south when I look at the weather radar for the area. Things have been pretty wet here in the North since yesterday (Saturday) and as we drove to San Francisco it rained most of the way here. Then we drove a relative and a friend to the airport and it was still misting pretty much all the way.

From the last few storms where I live there is wild grass coming up in the forests already 3 to 4 inches tall from all these drenching rains so far. So far so good. And the rain in southern California is desperately needed too. Hopefully it raises some of the reservoirs above the pathetic levels they have all been the past few years in southern California from the drought.

When I as visiting Hoover Dam the lecturer on our tour was saying Hoover Dam and the Colorado River has now been in a drought for 15 years. In order to make their 20 year quota contract of water release they had to drill a well head into the center of lake Mead to tap the aquifer beneath the lake to meet their contract requirements of water released because of 15 year drought.

However, I was thinking how everyone in the area with a well head outside the Lake Mead area's wells likely would go dry soon and force them to dig even deeper and deeper wells until the aquifer is gone completely. So, it's all pretty crazy from Lake Mead all the way to southern California water wise.
