I have seen God myself but I also must say that in seeing God I died and became a part of God instead of still being just me.
So, what this actually means is that when you see God you die and it is sort of like being a nail to an electromagnet. You become the same polarization of God or else you just physically die one or the other.
So, if your body lives you have died because you are no longer who you once were.
So therefore, "No man can see God and live" is a completely true statement if you understand it from personal experience like I do.
So, my way of saying this is if you see God you either physically die or become sort of an incarnate angel here on earth. This is what happens to you.
