My sense is that Hawaii the island could become about 1/3 bigger than it presently is through the volcano. But, I cannot tell you the timeline this will take place this just appears to be what is eventually going to happen.
But, what does that do to the people living on Hawaii? IT is possible that most people might have to leave Hawaii at some point during the next 500 years or so because otherwise they might be hit by projectiles coming down on them in various locations on the island from volcanic explosions. But this isn't necessarily soon.
All I'm getting for sure is that Hawaii the island eventually will be 1/3 larger or more by some point in the future before the plate moves and builds more islands in the Hawaiian Island chain which extends from this vent up to Midway if you study plate tectonics and how the plate has slowly moved north over thousands of years.
