Always prioritize spirit over religious organizations?

Why?

Let me tell you a true story.

I was at a retreat in Malibu Canyon and the head or the religion wasn't there but was away. There was a bad fire that might come in our direction but we were praying about the fire not burning this area down.

But then a really inexperienced and poorly motivated minister started using recorded powerful prayers and directed them against people she didn't like. AT this point my family got up and walked out because we wouldn't participate in that.

To make a long story short 50 foot flames came right up to the borders and fences of this religious estate. So, my father and I went over to the 50 foot flames because it was then moving so fast no fire engines had even got there and it was burning down Las Virgenes Canyon Rd towards the ocean.

We prayed as hard as we could and the flames only burnt the wooden fence but all the trees across the road burned down and many houses around burned down too.

The next day we looked and the fences were charred on two sides of the religious estate.

But, the fires never came onto the religious grounds even though most homes the other sides of the streets all burned down.

So, the point is you always defer to spirit rather than to leaders or organizations because sometimes they make serious mistakes like in this case. But, even then prayers kept the flames from burning down the entire estate like it did all the surrounding houses down Las Virgenes Canyon Rd. towards the ocean.
