Made it Home today but felt sorry for people trying to go east on Highway 152

Because of the fire right next to the highway burning into San Luis Rey Reservoir. High Winds and the fire drew at least 20 engines of the CalFire or CDF (CAlifronia Department of Forestry) to put it out and to try to keep it from spreading in the very high winds.

So, the traffic was   backed up eastbound  from the reservoir almost all the way down to Casa De Fruta trying to go east to Interstate 5 and locations throughout the San Joaquin Valley and Sacramento VAlley North and south or wherever their destination was.

The temperatures were between 98 to 102 most places between Merced and Mariposa too coming down Highway 140. My wife likes going across the two Military bridges because of the mountain collapse on the old 140 road at one point. The have had to build another road across the river because that part of the road cannot be repaired because the mountain will keep sliding away which is the same problem they have encountered on Highway 1 at Gorda where the highway and the road and everything just went into the ocean and cannot be easily repaired likely unless you built a tunnel through that area or something. And even then the road and tunnel might also go into the sea.

So, after we left Yosemite National Park it resembled driving through a furnace mostly until we got to Santa Nella where the winds started to be a problem and we could see by the time we got on 152 westbound that we were moving into an active fire area. So, hopefully the east bound lanes have made it to Interstate 5 by now and were let through and the fire didn't get any worse than it was already from the winds next to San Luis Reservoir.
