My wife and older daughter and I went to Yosemite up 140 and down Highway 140 and
so we stopped in the little mountain foothill town of Mariposa. We had many interesting
experiences with Butterflies along the Merced River especially just inside the National Park
along the Merced River. When I realized that Mariposa in Spanish actually means "Butterfly"
I was interested in hearing more about the definition of mariposa since we had visited the
twice and bought gas there and my wife bought some sandals and we stopped at the 1950s
burger joint with 1950s and 1960s and 1970s record covers pasted all over the ceiling which
takes one back to "My childhood" because I remember 1950 because I was 2 then and so I
remember all or most of the songs (at least the hits) from all these records from the 1950s
until now. I also stopped at this same place in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s 1990s, 2000s or
whenever I visited Yosemite via this route of 140.
