What is a Guru?

I'm thinking it's someone who really knows who they are and no one is going to tell them otherwise. So, it is someone who has learned enough to know who they are and who is capable of sharing effectively in one way or another their experience of life.

From this point of view almost anyone who has lived past 40 or 50 is somewhat of a guru if they are independent enough in their thinking and not living a victimized life.

I walked through a large health food store (kind of like Whole Foods) in Santa Barbara and was kind of horrified at where most people were at today. I think the last two years of Trump and everything else has disconnected a lot of people from their normal realities. So, I found myself very worried at where people were at in their demeanor and consciousness today. But, a part of this is southern California attitudes which can be difficult in themselves. I'm used to (NOW) in my life a much more primal view of reality from years of visiting Wilderness areas for years now ongoing.

So when I saw how disconnected from any reality I'm used to most of these folks were I was scared for them. (They all seemed to be mostly scared for themselves too in sort of a paranoid way before I got there.

The only person that seemed to actually have any center or have their act together today was the checker and he had a ponytail and was sort of groovy in his demeanor and seemed like "The Guru of the Health food store" compared to everyone else there.

So, something terrible has happened to more affluent southern California types that I hadn't noticed before who buy food in health food stores that sell organic foods. Paranoia of various kinds has creeped into the Southern California reality that I hadn't noticed at this level before.

I think when Obama was president they could be more funky groovy in their southern California ways. But, since Trump has gotten in the terror of the new administration seems to have taken more people into a doomsday scenario for the whole planet.

It's as if now everyone expects the human race to be dead here on earth within 25 to 50 years from just what Trump has been doing the last 2 years. I think this is a realistic view of the problem right here.

But, I also know from growing up more Blue Collar that this wouldn't be the blue collar attitude which always sort of sounds like "Fuck them all if they can't take a joke!"

Blue collar would be: "Whatever we have to do to survive we will!" which is what people were like where I grew up in the 1950s!

But, this is still the blue collar attitude today most places of: "I'm doing to do whatever it takes to survive!"

But, our nation surviving Trump at all now is very very troubling for the future of our democracy if we actually have a future as a nation at all now!
