Did she choke him or freak out when they crossed the water? Could he swim well enough to do this?Have either of them eaten any food in the last several weeks? Did either of them have any clean water before this crossing (or food)? What was their mental and emotional and physical state? Why didn't they find a branch or log to float across the river on?
We will never know because they are both gone now. All bets are off.
