One reason I live on the California coast

The Pacific Ocean cleans the air through rain storms across 6000 miles of ocean and prevailing winds before it gets to California, Oregon, Washington, Canada, Mexico and further south into places like Chile and Central America.

So, living on the coast of California tends to give one (if you are far enough away from the bigger cities (some of the cleanest air on earth available). This is one of the many reasons why I prefer to live on the California coast of Northern California. Also, if there are no clouds or fog on the coast I can see the whole Milky Way Galaxy from where I live because street lights are illegal where I live now. So, I can sit at night in my hot tub and look out at the galaxy and the big dipper and other stars if the night is a clear one that night. Also, next door in a green belt we have deer that we have fed for about 4 generations now. My wife likes to feed them oatmeal (uncooked). There is no hunting allowed where we live and so sometimes mountain lions come into the area where we live. We have seen CCTV videos of Mountain lions walking by homes within 1 or 2 blocks of where we live at night.

Also, if there are fires the prevailing winds are mostly towards the east or north east or south east but almost always away from the Coast. So, this is another reason to live on the coast of California, Oregon or Washington.
