Because if you aren't a survivor first you will never grow up to be a good person.
My motto has always been: "Survive first so that one day you can be a good person!"
The world is already full of people who are ONLY Survivors and so tend to be only sort of Assholes their whole lives as a result.
However, to me, always the goal was to survive whatever I had to so I could be a good person and help all the people I could along the way.
Getting to the point where you can successfully help the people you meet in good ways to me has always been my goal in life since the 1950s.
However, it is also true that the 1950s and 1960s were also likely the most affluent Americans have ever been or will ever be as a group in that one white 17 year old white man could (even without a high school education support about 7 people easily then and own two cars and maybe a house which is likely not possible for the majority of people now. But, it was then. Because of this we were more wealthy on average than we have ever been since from about 1950 until the Arab Oil embargo in 1973 when Gasoline quadrupled in price and kept going up.
In 1969 you could buy a gallon of gasoline for 17 Cents a gallon (try that now!).
So, my goal always was to survive whatever I had to until I could be a good enough person and financially well off enough to help others along the way.
Though this is still a good goal it is a much harder goal to fulfill these days than then by far.
Today it is much easier if you are Canadian to go from poor to rich than for an American to do this.
Why?
Because all the social programs that allowed people to become successful that were poor are now gone and you can see the result in the number of homeless people nationwide that is growing every day as a result in leaps and bounds and will continue to because we have completely forgotten educating and helping the poor to get a leg up since about 1990. So, as a result crime will increase as people try to stay alive with no chances of success otherwise. This is just a natural progression.
When you give people only death or "survive anyway you can" the desperate will do ANYTHING to survive. Just look at ISIS in the Middle East! These were men with no hope who became criminals to survive and then joined ISIS because ISIS paid them handsomely to die for them.
So, ISIS is an example of what can happen to the homeless when they have no food to eat in the middle east.
People can still get food here but I'm saying unless we take better care of our people we eventually will experience what the Middle East is experiencing right now.
The best way to overcome problems like this is through education. We need to give Free College educations to our people like they do in Europe. Otherwise, we eventually will look more like the middle East than Europe here in the U.S.
Not everyone gets free college educations in Europe by the way only people that get 90% or above in their high school exams. The rest are sent to Trade Schools usually instead of college. But, at least they don't waste their smartest people there like we do here.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
