Because without compassion for yourself you will tend to short circuit your own success from a subconscious level if you haven't gotten over hating yourself for one thing or another.
People will sense this if you haven't moved beyond self hate and will tend to trust you less as well.
So, until you are honest with yourself people will tend to sense this to one degree or another and not put their faith in your business or work.
So, being real with yourself and having integrity is important to success because first you have to trust yourself before others can fully trust you in business or in relationships.
So, integrity and compassion for oneself and others is actually the key to long term success as well.

Note: Without Integrity and long term compassion for yourself and others, people tend to lose their wealth because they aren't stable enough to maintain it. Self Doubt often ends wealth.
So, constancy and compassion for yourselves and others and literally living with the angels is the key to success for most people who stay wealthy and helpful to all life including themselves in a good way.
