Well. Since Maldek was destroyed by the Death STar at least 65 million years ago it happened just before the dinosaurs all died from the piece of Maldek that hit earth and killed the dinosaurs.
However, I also think this piece that hit earth also got a push from our ancestors so they wouldn't have to compete with T-Rex and all the rest when they colonized earth. Because Maldek was gone and Mars also was compromised when most of the atmosphere was blown off when Maldek blew up from the Death Star.
So, Earth was "the only game in town" in the solar system.
So, they came here and we are the hybrid result of genetic engineering Maldek and Mars humans with apes. We were bred as their slaves until they all died or interbred with us before they died from the microbes and diseases native to earth then.
