I was in the Himalayas in Nepal and India for around 4 months with my family 1985 and 1986. Here' s one of the problems. It's likely still like this to some degree.
The poorer people cannot afford electricity or heating with anything other than maybe Yak or water buffalo dung and there is also a breed that is both yak and water buffalo for the right temperature range too because Yaks usually like it above 8000 feet in elevation. So, people who cannot afford running water or electricity cook by burning dried yak or water buffalo dung mixed with refuse plastic so often that is what the air smells like in places where people don't have much money.
Then women are sent into the mountains to take all the leaves and twigs off of trees. This isn't legal but it is likely still done by the poorer people. So, once the poorer women remove all the leaves and twigs from a tree it dies and then the men come after the tree is dead it is allowed to be cut down without going to jail for this.
But, here's the problem with this: the tree once gone does not hold back the monsoon water so this monsoon water causes more and more floods each year as the soil from all the trees taken by this method don't stop the rain from washing away the soil in the Himalayas. Whole villages are washed away more on a yearly basis. Then you mix this with a Cyclone (what they call a hurricane in Asia) hits like at Bangladesh. Bangladesh is right on the ocean and is sort of like Florida in that it has no real elevation. So, a hurricane or Cyclone as they call it wipes out the living areas of millions of people when it hits. So, when you have a combination of what happens in a monsoon in the Himalayas combined with a Cyclone then you have 9.6 million people with no place to live and already 550 dead.
Then you look at what is happening in the U.S. and Europe and there is no one to send money or to help but people like Bill and Melinda Gates because 47% of the american people are going to food banks during these times.
So, because of this it is likely up to 250 million people around the world will starve to death in the next year's time. (or drown) or die of exposure because their house got washed away in a Cyclone or Monsoon or both.
This is one reason why I say that 10 people will starve to death on earth for every one that dies of coronavirus.
The death toll likely will greatly exceed all the people that died in world War II when you add those that starved to death during the next 12 months on earth to those that died or went bankrupt because of coronavirus worldwide.
And you can blame Trump because of this for likely 100s of millions of deaths worldwide because of his complete incompetence in dealing with Coronavirus so far.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
