Bangladeshi shot dead by Indian Khasias along Sylhet border

A Bangladeshi national was killed and another was injured after India’s Khasia people opened fire on them at Utma Border Outpost (BOP) in Companiganj upazila , Sylhet, on Saturday.
The deceased Babul Hossain and the injured Koyesh Miah, both in their 20s, are from Lama village of the upazila, said Lt Colonel Ahmed Yusuf Jamil, Commander of BGB-48 Battalion.
He said: "Khasia people opened fire on two Bangladeshi persons at around 12pm when they crossed over into Indian territory near the Utma Border Outpost in Companiganj upazila. They went there to steal pine apples, cultivated by Khasias."  
"Babul died on the spot while Koyesh managed to flee the scene," the BGB official added. 
With this, a total of 5 Bangladeshi nationals have been shot to death by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and Indian Khasia tribesmen in Sylhet border in the last 50 days.
