Florida Records New Record of 10,000 New Daily Coronavirus Cases

FLORIDA RECORDED MORE than 10,000 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, another single-day record for new daily virus infections.
The state's health department recorded 10,109 new COVID-19 cases, bringing Florida's total to more than 169,100. The state has reported 3,617 deaths, including 68 on Wednesday.

The U.S. also saw a new record on Wednesday, as the country recorded more than 50,000 new cases for the first time since the pandemic began. The U.S. has seen more than 2.69 million cases of the virus and more than 128,180 deaths.
Arizona, California, Texas, North Carolina and Tennessee all saw some of their highest numbers as well on Wednesday.

As the virus is surging in states, governors are pausing or rolling back their reopening plans. Halsey Beshears, the secretary of Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation announced on Friday that drinking alcohol will be banned at bars, and some bars and beaches have closed.
While some Florida localities have issued mandatory face covering orders, Florida Gov. Ron DeStantis has stopped short of issuing a statewide order.
