The Trump family's wealth started with a brothel and a restaurant in the Klondike during the Gold Rush in Canada. The Kennedy family's wealth was from illegal liquor sold during prohibition.
It's interesting how some of the wealthier families got their start.
Many Wealthy Oregonians and Californians got their start growing marijuana in Humboldt County and in Oregon before it became legal in Oregon First to do this. I think Oregon was the first state to legalize marijuana and the money to create this happening likely came from the growers in the first place to legalize it.
I heard stories even when I lived in Mt. Shasta about people renting homes that were pier block construction and then people would take an electric saw and cut out the living room floor and buy grow lights and grow the marijuana where the living room floor had been before directly into the ground under the house. After their crop was grown they would disappear with their crop or the money from their crop and leave the landlords with no living room floor in their rental house.
This happened a lot in the 1970s and 1980s by the way in places like Humboldt County in California right next to Oregon and throughout Oregon.
