We got a desperate call from friends in Mt. Shasta because cell service was down from a fire in Oregon and they couldn't get information about their son who lives in Talent, Oregon. His son had texted and said he was evacuating from a wall of Flame in Talent Oregon where he lives. The fire started in Ashland but headed north and burned through Talent and now is burning through Phoenix, Oregon.
Also, Interstate 5 has been closed in California and everyone is being turned back because the fire is on both sides of the freeway from Ashland into Phoenix and through Talent.
Truck drivers are abandoning their trucks which might burn up on the freeway at this time between Ashland and Phoenix on Interstate 5. The winds are bad and appear to be blowing north.
Hopefully, the fire doesn't burn all the way into Medford, Oregon this crazy day!
So, I relayed what information I could find for my friends in Mt. Shasta by text which is still working.
