Despite losing a minimum of 500,000 plus people to Covid so far America might come out of this better than most nations on earth

Why is this?

I think because we suffered so much and yet our capabilities and wealth are being tapped in useful directions for our long term survival as a nation. Despite all the totally ridiculous and counter productive things Trump did, he did ONE thing right which was to harness American technology and business into creating MRNA vaccines which was a herculean business effort to begin with. So, even though we have lost over 500,000 people now, we likely will be one of the first countries to survive this relatively well, sort of like how we were after World War II as the ONLY big nation left Standing in 1945.

It's like Winston Churchhill once said of Americans: "After trying absolutely everything else eventually Americans will do the right thing."

Which is a very apt truth about Americans. In other words when we suffer enough we tend to do the right thing which is true of most people here in the U.S.

In other words: "Americans tend to learn from their mistakes and learn to adapt much better than most people tend to on earth."

Which is why we likely will be the biggest nation still standing when all this is over too.
