Safe in Santa Barbara

My wife and my son and his family all had a wonderful time visiting my cousin in Orange County. He has also a huge swimming pool and also relatives (his children) came over and had dinner with us. All the adults were vaccinated too so this was a really wonderful experience. The swimming pool and their multi-poodle entertained my 8 year old grandson too along with swimming in the large swimming pool.

So, this morning after three days and nights there we left on the 4th day for Santa Barbara and my oldest daughter who lives there in one of the family's houses. The traffic wasn't too bad because we were able to leave Orange and head north over Imperial Highway to the 91 freeway west to 57 and then north to the 210 freeway and then over to the Ventura Freeway towards Ventura and Santa Barbara. We didn't hit too much traffic and going up against the mountains on the 210 tends to eliminate most of the traffic traveling back to Santa Barbara on this route too.

However, we were surprised to see 106 degrees near Woodland Hills on the Ventura freeway. We didn't really notice it too much except for the temperature gauge on the dashboard because we had the windows closed with the air conditioner on. However, we were still surprised by the outside temperature reading as we drove through there. Then when we dropped down to Ventura it was only about 73 degrees which was nice because then I could open the window for fresh ocean air.
