For me, writing is something I do like some people pick up a guitar and play to sing and play and comfort themselves. When I was in my teens and early 20s often I would be playing piano, keyboards or guitar and singing for friends at get togethers and parties. I met a lot of girlfriends in this way from ages 15 to 25 when I met my first wife and got married at age 26.
I started writing by hand a lot until I learned to type at age 12 during a typing class I took one summer at my junior high school. After I learned to type I found that with a typewriter I could write about as fast as I could talk which is pretty fast. Then I found I wrote more even though typewriters you can make a lot of mistakes and then you have to use whiteout to correct those mistakes on a typewriter. So, I was glad to buy my first TRS-80 for about 800 dollars in 1978 which was my first home computer. But, even then I didn't have a printer because they weren't available yet. I finally bought an Epson Color Printer along with my first real computer and printer that I bought about 1987 I believe and the computer was an AT computer that could run MS DOS. Later I bought Pentium computers and other color printers along the way to now. But, writing became much easier as soon as I bought a computer and a printer where I could print out copies of my writings. I still didn't begin to publish online what I was printing though until 1999 in June after I found out I wasn't going to die from my cardiologist. I began my first website at Geocities then and have had several different websites since then including the one here that you are reading this at which I started in 2007 in the fall.
