My theory is that people who are bored with their lives watch horror movies in order to feel something rather than to feel nothing at all.
However, a better idea is to go spend some time in the wilderness alone or with your friends and read a good book, or go skiing or swimming depending upon the time of year.
The real problem with Horror movies is that they create more of an ill at ease subconscious base which can decrease your mental and physical health in marked ways.
Your subconscious mind is like about a 2 year old. So, in some ways it is like taking your 2 year old (your self) and showing them the worst horror movie you have ever seen. It tends to decrease your physical and mental health and it takes away any sense of well being you might have.
In order to survive things in your life that are real like Wars and Pandemics the LAST thing you should be doing is watching horror movies unless you want your mental or physical health to end soon.
You are already dealing with enough just surviving your own lives day to day. You don't need artificial things to destroy your mental and physical health.
You already are being destroyed on a daily basis just dealing with a World War II situation in dealing with friends and relatives getting sick and dying worldwide every day already through Covid.
Here is one of the horrific facts here in the U.S. 140,000 children in the U.S. have lost a parent or secondary caregiver to Covid.
This by itself is a real horror movie to some degree everyone in the U.S. is dealing with right now.
This is why watching horror movies could result in the either end of your mental health or the end of your physical life.
Learning about how your subconscious mind actually works in making you well or sick by studying about it will also help keep you alive ongoing.
Everything I have written here is common sense.
However, you would be surprised how many people seem to have no common sense these days.
And often in times like these soon those people are gone (whatever age they are).
