I was pretty grateful to have survived our adventure of 1 month and 2 days so far. I did have to get 20 stitches in my left leg shin in Jackson, Wyoming. So, it was quite an adventure on many different levels. I had thought then about going home at that point and realized that I didn't want to return home after 2 years of covid quarantining at home like most people who never got Covid did.
So, I continued on my journey realizing it wasn't going to be a hiking trip with 20 stitches in my left shin.
It would be more of a sightseeing and driving trip instead. But, I found that could be a lot of fun too and something new and different was happening in my life to adapt to every single day of our trip. I figure we likely added 20 more years onto our lives by doing this trip just in how much we had to adapt every single day to what life brought us on this long long trip from SF bay area to Lake Louise to Spokane, Washington to Seattle and then to Portland Oregon to see my son and his family and finally to Mt. Shasta last Saturday and several days of rain at night with temperatures below 73 degrees all that time which is nice because often Mt. Shasta during 4th of July is 90 to 110 degrees during the day often.
So, tonight we finally made it home to the coast of California and home which is a good feeling. But, after being gone over a month our house felt strange in some ways even though in other ways it was a comfort to have this long adventure finally be over. I realized how much stronger I was physically and psychologically and spiritually having gone on this trip with my wife too.
So, alls well that ends well.
By God's Grace
