Unless you are right at the epicenter you might not even feel a 3.7 Earthquake depending upon how deep in the earth it is. The closer to the surface usually the more you will feel something like this. However, every quake is different sort of like how every wave on the ocean is different in some ways too so you never know which ones will fundamentally damage structures like houses and roads and government buildings etc. Even in the house I have lived in since 2000 on the Northern California coast has some cracks likely do to earthquakes along the way. This is pretty normal all over California to see cracks in houses from earthquakes we have had especially where plasterboard has moved in an earthquake. Another sign is cracks in cement in some places too all over the state. But, we have very stringent building codes now so even though cracks might appear, houses built since the 1950s to 1970s are all really well built because of newer building codes and will usually be okay ongoing.
