Throwing the baby out with the Bathwater?

My main complaint with my own generation was that we were so self centered as college students in our generation that in our exuberance to have more freedoms in our lives that we sort of threw the baby out wiht the bathwater in the process.

The good part of all this was that we here in the U.S. and Europe helped prevent World War III by becoming more tolerant and international in our thinking and becoming less provincial and backward.

But, the bad part of this was that we left children a lot as latch key kids without fathers or mothers a lot of the time, divocrce took off to now where 1/2 of all marriages now end in divorce. And children are often left alone or dead in our country because of neglect.

However, what needs to be known is that without becoming more international and tolerant than we were in the 1950s that humans would have had a nuclear war and would be completely extinct now with Earth as an Asteroid belt and a completely lifeless place.

So, throwing out the baby with the bathwater seems like a small price to pay for not having gone extinct already here today in 2023.

So, when I think about Chriatian Nationalism and how many of these people see Putin as the leader of their movement (even here in the U.S.) because Russia is so much like the U.S. was in the 1950s now I see how we all got to here and it makes me sad that people don't realize why we sacrificed the way we did not to go extinct in the first place.

Christian Nationalism is very myopic and shortsighted in not understanding how far we have come from ideas that almost drove us extinct in the first place.

And if Christian Naitonalism takes hold again it likely will create an Armageddon which will take us to extinction led by Putin using nuclear weapons too.
