gasoline and diesel Cars have had 120 years or more to develop into what they are now. However, this isn't true of EVs

The primary problem with Electric Vehicles is that you have to charge them up somewhere or you cannot use them. Some people carry their own gasoline or diesel generators on trailers for example, in some states or if they have something like a Rivian Truck so they don't get stuck out in the wilds without a charge.

The next problem of EVs is their batteries which wear out in 7 or 8 years which cost 5000 dollars to 20,000 dollars to replace. Unless you figure this into your budget at 7 or 8 years owning an EV vehicle will break your bank and you might have to stop driving it when the batteries go.

The next problem is what are you going to do with your old batteries? Will you put them in a land fill which will pollute the earth and the water tables from all the chemicals foreign to most soils and poison people directly or indirectly.

So, you are not poisoning the air so you can poison the water and the earth instead?

This is basically what you are doing when you get rid of your old batteries to an EV.

So, maybe a better choice might be a hybrid where you generate your own electricity from your own gasoline. Even Train engines mostly are diesel Electric Hybrids which create the most torque and turning power for the fuel they use.

So, I'm thinking if you really want to do yourself and favor and to make driving cost less maybe a hybrid is a much better choice than an EV.

It's going to take about 120 years for all the bugs and kinks to be worked out of EVs anyway and you might not be alive then.
