A friend has been visiting the last few days so I took him to another beach so I could also walk our dog who loves to squirm on her back to scratch it I guess on the beaches. Lately the kelp beds keep coming in on the waves like they have all summer long until now. Normally, this mostly happens in the winter time so something is changing in the Pacific Ocean. Also, around 10 feet horizontally of the small cliffs on this beach have been washed away during the last 2 years including the boardwalk there too so there is no wood left at all of the previously redwood boardwalk that went about a mile along the coast. If you want to walk on sand you can still make this walk sort of but there is no boardwalk along most of the route now because it has been washed away in storms the last couple of years.
However, despite all that the sunset was really beautiful tonight and our dog and our friend really enjoyed visiting the beach with all the sandpiper types of birds running around together. Also, I noticed there were a lot of sneaker waves happening as well as waves breaking very far out to sea which was unusual also today.
