Writing

There is a Saying: "Music Soothes the Savage Beast".

However, writing can do the same thing. Why?

There is a lot of confusion in life. But, if you start trying to understand the confusion sometimes you can make more sense of it by examining your life and other's lives.

For example, my father blamed his father for not allowing him to go to college even though my father was valedictorian of his HIgh School Class in Seattle in 1934. So, I had to listen to my father constantly complain that his father stopped him from becoming an Electrical Engineer like he wanted to be.

However, as I studied the situation more I saw more deeply what actually really happened.

My Grandfather was wise because of the Great Depression. What he realized was that College graduates were starving to death without jobs living in tents along the side of rivers then. But, people who were tradesmen like Electricians, Carpenters, Plumbers and the like always had jobs. Why?

Because rich people (and everyone who owns a home) needs people to maintain their homes and to build their homes no matter who is starving. It's just a fact of life.

So, my grandfather put his boys to work in his business which was an electrical Contracting Business building and remodeling homes and businesses in Seattle.

So, his three sons ALWAYS had girlfriends, Cars and money in their pockets throughout the Great Depression because of this. Then he sent his two daughters to college to marry a college man which one of them did and the other one married a guy who her father (my grandfather) trained to be an electrician the rest of his life until he retired.

So, figuring out things like this one begins to understand so many things about life that one never knew before which puts an entirely different spin on things than before.

Another thing I learned recently is that all of my major problems as an adult were because of mistakes I made as a young man. (which is pretty normal).

However, what is also true is that if I was that honest with myself I would have killed myself for sure. So, it was important to my physical survival that I blamed others until I was mature enough to survive knowing the truth about my life.

So, like I have said before: "The Truth cuts both ways". It kills as often as it saves lives.

And when I began to fully realize this I realized: "Why should I  tell people the truth about their lives if it causes them to self destruct?"

Because as a young man I was very into the truth and hadn't learned yet that the truth kills as much as it saves.

This is when I realized that "Being compassionate to myself and all other beings is what enlightenment is actually all about."

The truth is important too. But, you have to be very careful what you say to people so what you say doesn't kill them.

In some ways you also have to be careful what you say to yourself especially when you are young and somewhat ignorant of the world "Even though at the time you might think you know everything like I did when I was 21".

When in reality I knew nothing like most 21 year olds.

This is why I often Say: "HOW does anyone survive to be 30?"

I barely did myself.

By God's Grace
