Why? Because now he is acting like Trump or any other politician like the guy from Alabama. He isn't acting with the decorum of a future Supreme court member. His Political campaign I think just backfired upon him. And when Ford testifies it might just be all over for him at this point.
This isn't the way actual Supreme Court Nominees are supposed to act. By doing this he seals his fate as a politician but not a Supreme Court Justice. It's the wrong arena to do this in. So, when he doesn't become on the Supreme Court it is likely we will see him running for Congress after this likely in the House as a Republican.
