My adult son has been staying with my wife and teenage daughter and I since he moved back from Colorado. He remarked that today it was 10 degrees in Denver. I said, "You mean, during the day!" and he nodded his head. I remembered him getting up at the Brown Palace Hotel a few weeks ago when he drove south from Ft. Collins where he was living to pick me up in his car. He had to go pay for parking at the lot he had parked at before his car was towed. But it was 18 degrees walking a few blocks to his car at 6 AM. When he got back he mentioned how cold it had been and that he had been completely unprepared for just how cold it was that morning. (He hadn't taken enough warm clothes).
But today, he had finally gotten sick. He had broken up with his wife last summer, but I think he didn't feel safe enough in his life to get sick from it yet. He had mentally adjusted to the break-up but not emotionally yet. So, getting sick really does the trick I have noticed in my own life when extreme changes happen regarding important relationships. So, I told him that getting sick is really important in helping him move on. He just said he had never had aches in his body before like this. He also said he had about 101 or 102 degrees Fahrenheit fever. But he is a trained nurse so he likely will know how to treat his illness.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
