To the Doctor

I was taking a relative of mine to the doctor for a bad flu that seems to be going around. My relative got sick three days ago and it has gotten worse every day including temperatures above 101 to 102 degrees Fahrenheit. So, finally when my relative couldn't carry on a useful conversation this morning my wife and I decided to take them to the doctors. The doctor said that this this is a really bad flu and that Tami Flu is necessary as well as Singulair to keep breathing passages open and that rest for at least 5 or more days would be necessary and that would I please email the doctor to let him know how the patient was progressing?

This is a really awful flu and my relative cannot remember when he has had a worse one. Since it cost over 200 dollars or more including a visit to the doctor and various medicines (probably $250 so far) even with insurance because of deductibles not being reached yet I began to think about people who could no way afford something like this. What happens to them? I began to think about especially homeless people getting this awful flu and what happens to them this time of year around the country and around the world? I got sort of a sick feeling to my stomach as I contemplated this in real time. So, when world economies decline or pull back like they have in the western world people not only get sick but often die more as well. This was obvious to me on this trip to the doctors today.
