I was watching 16 Candles on TV which is a 1984 Molly Ringwald Classic and thinking how life was somehow much simpler and easier then even though the Cold War wasn't over yet in 1984.
I was thinking how 2001 and 9-11 was really bad luck for the whole world. I look at it and I really can't see any good at all done by 9-11 and everything that came after. It just sort of bankrupted the whole world in some ways. We are still trying to recover from all the damage done to the whole world from that event.
So, hopefully the next 10 or 20 years will be better than the last 12 were for the world.
There have only been a few times when mainland U.S. has been attacked. The Revolutionary war, the War of 1812 and I suppose you could say the Civil War was one where we attacked ourselves. Then there was Pearl Harbor and the Goleta Torpedo near Santa Barbara that didn't go off on the beach from a Japanese Submarine and then there is 9-11. All these times were attacks on America in one way or another. Hopefully, we will have some peace and recovery and good times again not only for the U.S. and Europe but hopefully for the whole world.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
