I think it is inevitable worldwide as people become more educated that people will more and more (like they do already) see all religions as more cultural things like people see their own nationalities. Though religions help children stay alive to High School age, often they then become sort of ridiculous to children older than 15 to 18. And if those children enter college they are then hit with so many different points of view including the "Critical Thinking" necessary to become a successful adult that then most religions become like institutionalized "Fairy Tales" even more.
So, I think people's spirituality will grow more to become even more individualistic than it already is and that to some degree Individualistic Spirituality will replace people's formal religions more and more as time goes on all around the world. Each nation has a different personality regarding what I'm talking about. So, I would say that individualistic Spirituality is the strongest already in Europe and North America for now since 20% of the people in the U.S. don't define themselves as any particular religion already.
Defining "Individualistic Spirituality"
Defining one's belief systems according to one's personal experiences throughout their lives rather than what someone else tells them to believe.
