This is actually a much more important question than it appears to be on the surface. Because if you are not empowered it will harm your children, your significant other, your family and your friends.
In order to be a useful adult to yourself and to others you must be empowered in your emotions and in your thoughts.
However, if you are not simultaneously compassionate to yourself and to all other beings in the universe this doesn't work either. Because then individuals or society at large will tend to put you down (kill or incarcerate you).
So, being empowered and being compassionate (towards yourself and all living beings) is a hallmark of a good citizen of every country on earth, a Citizen of Earth or even a Citizen of the Galaxy or beyond.
Understanding that empowerment has to go hand in hand with compassion for yourself and all other beings is what it means to be an adult here on Earth.
