One of the things I found I really liked in Korea to eat there was the potato pancakes. Literally, ground potatoes in a pancake form fried in a pan. So, as my friend and I put ketchup on these like ground french fries or hash browns in a pancake form as his wife winced because we were not putting what Koreans put on them, and then I asked for some maple syrup on mine and found I loved this way of eating them too, I asked for one of these when I left. His wife said, "They are only about a dollar or two to buy there so she gave me hers. She made them after peeling the potatatoes after washing them first. However, likely I will keep the peels on because there is more food value to do it this way because I'm more experimental and not Korean traditional. Because I like them now with ketchup or syrup. They taste a lot like hash browns or French fries with a different consistency.
However, if you buy this plastic grinding mechanism be very careful of your fingers and knuckles so they don't get bloody as you make them. The top photo is how you use the grinding plastic mechanism which then falls into the (pancake mixing bowl type of apparatus). Then you simply pour the contents of the bowl into a frying pan and make them a lot like you would pancakes made from wheat flour or buckwheat. Good luck!
