In addition to what Sam Harris says on the Muslim religion he also wrote a scathing report on Christianity too. So, it is not surprising at all that Bill Mayer the atheist would have Sam Harris on his show. Also, because Sam Harris is controversial it makes perfect sense that Fareed Zacharia would have him on his GPS show on CNN too.

I haven't read either of these books but the ones Fareed Zacharia lists are usually pretty interesting reads.
