I decided to stop calling ISIL ISIS

The reason for doing this is first, the U.S. government decided this was more useful and it is also internationally more politically correct.

For example, ISIS is an ancient Egyptian Diety and I find it is important to respect all dieties who are constructive like ISIS is and was.

Also, ISIL means the ISLAMIC State of Iraq and the Levant. The Levant means everything from Turkey to Saudi Arabia to Tunisia I believe. So, it is possible that the ISLAMIC STATE seeks to repeat something as large as the Ottoman Empire.

Will this happen?

No

Because the developed world with the most sophisticated weapons doesn't want it to.
However, that doesn't mean they haven't already permanently changed the middle east for 100 years  or more already wherever they have already gone by killing local leadership whether that was religious leadership, ethnic leadership, scholars, elders etc.

By doing this whatever people left alive have to follow (at least for now) whatever warlord is in charge. In other words right now it is "Might makes right" so to speak. So, it might be 100 years or more before the cultures and leadership wiped out returns in any permanent way. And by then many cultures might have been literally wiped out if they were already minorities at least in those areas where they originally flourished the last 2000 years or so. So, unless many of those minority religions and cultures don't reestablish themselves in areas elsewhere around the world in the meantime, there won't be those minority religions or cultures anywhere within 100 years from now to go back there if they want to live there once again like they have the last 2000 or more years.
