It's 1270 and the time of Kublai Khan (September 23, 1215 – February 18, 1294) and Marco Polo and his father and possibly his uncle are there too. The father gives Marco Polo as a servant to Kublai Khan to grease the wheels of his merchant business in China and Mongolia which Kublai Khan rules over then. Kublai Khan's grandfather was Genghis Khan by the way.
Historically, this is a very interesting in depth cultural representation. So, expect to be carried back into historical journeys that are quite and adventure in themselves beyond the characters in the story.
So, far I have seen part of the first episode with my wife and most of the 3rd, 4th and 5th ones with my 18 year old daughter who seems quite taken with this Netflix series.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
