The vicious cycle: Arab Spring, Assad, Russia, Sunnis dying, Oil price drop etc.

Here are some of the facts we know worldwide:

Putin didn't like Arab Spring because it (to his way of thinking) destabilized the Middle East, and specifically it destabilized Syria where he had his last warm water port (strategic especially in Winter).

So, as things got worse in Syria Putin could see the writing on the wall so he took Crimea so he would have one more warm water sea port in case he lost his Syrian warm water port. (Strategic)

Next, in order to be able to have a truck road to ship things overland to his warm water port in Crimea he decided to take Eastern Ukraine where such a road exists.

Then Sanctions were applied against Russia and Putin because Ukraine is a free nation since the 1990s. Then Saudi Arabia (Mostly Sunni) decided to keep producing to eliminate the competition worldwide.

Here is the real question: "Did Saudi Arabia keep producing oil no matter the oil price:

1. because they wanted to
2. because they wanted to eliminate worldwide drilling and shale oil competition
3. because they wanted revenge on Russia for giving arms to Assad to kill Sunnis with
or
4. all of the above?

So, which came first the chicken or the egg?

It's hard to say.

However, my guess is "All of the Above"

So, once again:

Assad kills Sunnis
Russia and Iran supply weapons to Assad in Syria
Assad kills 200,000 Sunnis and makes 9 million or more refugees throughout the world.
Saudi Arabia decides to keep producing oil even though that might mean economic disaster for
Russia and Iran, just like it collapsed the Soviet Union last time they did this in the 1980s?

These are all known facts. Organize them any way you want to and see what you come up with.

Later:

I realized I needed to add one more important factor in all this.

When Iran and Russia decided to keep Assad in power in Syria "No MATTER WHAT!" this also caused ISIL to be created. So, here is a flow chart of events when you add ISIL to the mix:
Assad kills Sunnis
Russia and Iran supply weapons to Assad in Syria
Assad kills 200,000 Sunnis and makes 9 million or more refugees throughout the world.
Saudi Arabia decides to keep producing oil even though that might mean economic disaster for
Russia and Iran, just like it collapsed the Soviet Union last time they did this in the 1980s?

However, Iran and Russia sending weapons and Hezbollah into Syria created ISIL, ISIS, IS (Islamic State) (whatever you want to call it now).

However, since Al Baghdadi is some kind of PHD genius with some brains, this has killed all Shias, Christians, Yazidis, and also any Sunnis that Al Baghdadi doesn't like in whatever territory they control. It has also threatened the existence potentially of all Shia and Sunni Governments as well as Israel, which is why most Sunni Governments are attacking ISIL so they don't cease to exist. Iran also is attacking ISIL so it doesn't cease to exist also just like all Shias between Assad's territory and Kurdish territory that borders Iran.

So, Middle Easterners all see Iran and Russia as culprits in creating ISIL but Sunnis common people (both educated and uneducated) fund ISIL to continue to exist because they are so mad at Assad, Russia and Iran in killing so many Sunnis. So, this mess and feud between Shias and Sunnis might go on for 100 years or more at this level more or less. So, oil could become a casualty even more than it is now.

So, dropping the price of oil is also a way for Sunni and Shia nations to starve ISIL out of existence. This is one reason why you don't see Iran complaining about Saudi Arabia dropping the price of oil.

Because all sides of the Middle Eastern Sunni Shia conflict are armed and powered by Oil prices. So, as prices drop the amount of weapons on all sides might drop significantly, except the U.S. and Saudi Arabia and a few others.
