Regarding Larry Dean Olsen

IN the last blog article I quoted Larry dean Olsen's site.

How I got here is very circuitous. First, I was going to sleep and remembered a guy who looked sort of disoriented from the Buhl Fire Department because he wore their T-shirt while walking along the beach at Beach 69 which is a part of the beaches related to Hapuna Beach here on the big Island of Hawaii today. It makes sense that anyone who just came from Buhl Idaho would be disoriented to be about 50 to 80 degrees warmer outside than they would be expecting this time of year here in Hawaii.

I was trying to place where I knew Buhl From. I realized it was about 1983 when I went with my wife and 2 of our three kids (this is my ex-wife now) and I and the kids stayed at a ranch while my wife was one of the trainers on a 25 day survival trek for basically juvenile delinquents being trained not to take drugs or alcohol for 25 days in a wilderness trek. My wife was one of the volunteer trainers for this. So, one of our chidlren stayed with their grandparents (my wife's parents) and the younger two went with me and my wife and then I stayed part of the time at a ranch that we knew someone there that owned it. So, this is where Buhl I realized came from because the ranch was near Buhl Idaho which is near Twin Falls, Idaho which is near the wilderness area where my now ex-wife took off teaching young people about nature with a large group of trainers and teenagers. We also knew the medicine man who was hired to bring the kids back with a rope and a horse and to track them down if they tried to run away from the group. Because they were so far from civilization they needed to be tracked down or else they were going to die out there all alone if they ran away. Their parents paid for this training to keep them alive and off of drugs and alcohol long enough to realize nature had a lot to teach them about staying alive and survival.

And Larry Dean Olsen wrote the survival manual for doing this properly to save teenagers from themselves.
