Standing up for what is right

Paris is known as a very safe city in the world where travelers from all over go to have fun, various kinds.

I fought my wife when she wanted us to go to Paris a few years ago because I knew nothing about Paris really other than the Eiffel Tower was there and the Seign River and that Napoleon once ruled it around 1812 or something like that and that during World War II the French gave over Paris rather than have it bombed out of existence by the Nazis then.

But, if you ever go there it is an incredibly beautiful historic and happy city filled with mostly happy people who might get upset with you if you are American and don't speak French right. But, mostly they speak English so if you speak a little French and they speak a little English you both mangle each other's language and this seems to be okay with them. As long as both languages are mangled equally.

But, also Paris is known as a very safe city where children often walk to school alone or walk to the store unattended in safety like it was in the U.S. still in the 1950s when I grew up and when I rode my bicycle for miles and miles at age 5 and after and everyone thought that was just great.

So, what happens to those little children now?

Can they walk safely to school? Can they walk to the corner store or downtown now unattended and be safe?

I don't know the answer to this question. But, this has been as assault on all towns in Europe and the U.S. and every free nation on earth not just Paris. And unless we stand up to this in a meaningful way we won't have nearly the same freedoms we once had anymore.

In a different way this was an attack on all free nations just like the North Korean attack on Sony pictures and "The Interview" movie. This is the same thing only about 15 or 20 people died in multiple related incidents this time in various parts of Paris.
