Blanco river spike to Flood Stage May 23rd at Wimberly, Texas
If you look carefully at this chart the water level is around 4 to 5 feet. It's hard to see on this chart but it looks like it went from 4 to 5 feet to over 40 feet in the course of an hour or two or so. So, it makes sense so many were caught unaware and this is the reason so many died and are missing as a result now. They had no idea it could get this bad this quick. There was no reason to believe otherwise given the history of the area. But now, many are missing or dead because of this completely unexpected event.
