Since Turkey and Saudi Arabia and other Sunni States are aligning to the idea of putting forces now in place and arming them to overthrow Assad, this is going to change the dynamics a lot in Syria. The real question now is: "What will Iran do to counter the Sunni Moves?" And maybe even more important, "What will Russia do to protect Assad and it's more than 50,000 Russian Citizens now intermarried with Syrians in Syria?" And Secondly, "What will Russia Do to protect it's Syrian Warm Water Port?"
The U.S. doesn't want to be fighting against Russia because of nuclear weapons. (in other words we don't want to have to use nuclear weapons on each other). But, Saudi Arabia and Turkey don't seem to worry about that for a variety of reasons. We will see if they are right or not.
If Turkey and Saudi Arabia and the other Sunni States cause the genocide of all the Shias in Syria (which is likely to happen by the way if Assad Falls), it is hard to say what Russia, Europe and the U.S. will do?
However, what is shaping up now is some kind of world war scenario with the Sunnis in Turkey and Saudi Arabia and other Sunni nations fighting Iran in a variety of ways from now on. However, likely this warfare will not occur in Iran, Turkey or Saudi Arabia for a variety of reasons. But, it could occur and likely will in Syria, Iraq, and many other places as well.
