Overpopulation: When too many people are in a specific place on earth that is more than the local land and potable water can sustain, then if people are poor without oil or other resources, many are naturally going to starve and die without outside help.
Overpopulation: Too many people for any one area to sustain then creates unemployment, lack of food, lack of shelter. So, to survive many often turn to crime or terrorism to survive a little longer. This is the vicious cycle that we see playing out now in many "overpopulated" countries and areas around the world now. The worst is in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya right now. But, many other locations are close to being as bad as these worldwide in the future.
The only real answer long term will be education and birth control. Once people are properly educated they start to bring down populations by only replacing themselves or less. You see this wherever people have been educated not to "kill the whole world" with overpopulation like is now happening in many poorer places on earth right now.
Birth control is going to be and is the only difference between having quality of life or people living in hell here on earth.
So, educating people and teaching them the necessity of birth control to prevent human extinction is the ONLY viable alternative to actual human extinction at present.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
