I think it is useful to think in this way. So, from my point of view the best genetics combined with the best instincts and intelligence in all beings great and small is how they survive. Some call this the survival of the Fittest.
I like to call this "Beings who do whatever it takes to survive whatever comes in their lives". And it not only about the survival of individuals in any species it is about propagation of the species too. Because each of us in the end is only a cog in a wheel of thousands and millions of years of evolutions of all species here on earth. So, for only one of us to survive is not enough.
However, at present we have the opposite problem of "Too many humans here on earth".
The problem now is: "How to we achieve a balance so we all don't die of extinction like humans are already driving 140,000 species extinct here on earth every single year now?"
If we look at the 140,000 species (approximately) going extinct each year now we see the likelihood that we humans may one day be one of these species going extinct (at least here on earth too).
And in the end if we don't somehow deal with this it is curtains for everyone here on earth anyway no matter what happens to the 140,000 species going extinct each year her now.
So, the question remains: "Will the human species do whatever it takes to survive here on earth?"
And the best answer is: "Some people likely will." Whatever that is.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
