In the past you had a tribe so when someone invented something like the wheel or something like that that would sit around and discuss whether this was a good thing or a bad thing.
This isn't happening anymore. So, it is sort of like techonology is thousands of wild animals on the loose, sometimes every so often someone trains one of them to be like a horse and builds a horse cart, but most of the time the wild animals of technology go marauding around helping or maiming or killing everyone in various different kinds of ways.
There is NO INSTRUMENT presently to keep technology in a safe place in regard to humanity.
So, from this point of view a technological Singularity has already occurred.
So, the only question now is:
"Will humanity survive the marauding animals of ungoverned technology or not?"
Because the problem now isn't what it should be which is: "Is this technology a good thing or a bad thing?"
The only question for many people is: "Why not?" which can lead to almost anything or any death or any maiming both seen and unseen.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
